The Girl Guides Association of Zimbabwe (GGAZ) will next term introduce an HIV/Aids awareness campaign in children's homes and primary schools countrywide.

The project was launched at Chinyaradzo Children's Home and president of the association, Mrs Maria Chaniwa, said this would help in reducing the Aids scourge."The association will introduce Aids awareness projects in children's homes and primary schools starting from next term. This will help in reducing the Aids pandemic in the country."

Speaking at the occasion that was attended by teachers and school headmasters from in and around Harare, Mrs Chaniwa said primary school children and orphans from most children's homes are still lagging behind as far as Aids campaigns are concerned. The programme would also be introduced in rural schools once there is adequate funding, Mrs Chaniwa said.-- HR.
