France injects 2million Euro to assist Zim's vulnerable
French Embassy
October 09, 2008

Given the difficult humanitarian situation in Zimbabwe and the growing number of people exposed to severe malnutrition, France is increasing its efforts to assist the population.

France has taken the decision on 3rd October 2008 to release food aid amounting to 2 millions euros to provide immediate support to the most vulnerable people of Zimbabwe as well as to support medium- and long-term policies aimed at promoting food security.

This 2-million-euro aid package will be donated through the World Food Programme (WPF), the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) and the French ONG "Action contre la faim" (ACF).

This new contribution comes on top of French aid to Zimbabwe through various bilateral, international and European programmes.
