Common issues
raised
- Participants
expressed concern over the Polling Station based voters'
roll given the volatile environment that normally prevails during
election periods.
- On Media
coverage, in Kambuzuma participants highlighted that reforms on
media coverage of all political parties during election time must
be put in place and ZEC be given its full mandate to monitor the
media during election time.
- Participants
urged the authorities to seriously consider the issue of Diaspora
Vote and emulate other countries like Mozambique, Namibia and
South Africa, with one participant saying, "We have seen
queues along Herbet Chitepo Avenue at the Mozambican Embassy and
learnt that Mozambicans cast their ballots at their embassies.
Why can't the government of Zimbabwe do the same for its
citizens resident abroad?"
