Hwange - Hwange Agenda Programme Officer Serah Zulu has been summoned by Hwange Police to explain why she went ahead and organized a "Meet the Candidates" meeting without their permission. According to the amended Public Order and Security Act (POSA), organizations intending to hold meetings only have to notify the police of their intentions unlike in the past when police would to grant permission. The police had not responded to her notification by the time of the meeting, which under the amended POSA meant that she could go ahead in the absence of any objection.

Lupane - Villagers in Ward 10 Lupane have been denied access to grain they had bought from the Grain Marketing Board because they are alleged to be MDC supporters. The grain has been diverted to Ward 16 where it will be distributed to Zanu PF supporters only. Bareta Ncube, a Zanu PF candidate for the council elections, Headman Moyo, the Zanu PF Matabeleland North provincial chairman and police are alleged to have harassed the GMB official who had processed the transaction. The official reason for the move was that the grain had been reallocated to the ruling party because the MDC had no transport. All the villagers have is the receipt acknowledging payment to the GMB.
