Harare
rocked to vote
Crisis
in Zimbabwe Coalition
October 29, 2007
The Crisis Coalition's
inaugural Alternative Civic and Voter Education Campaign was held
on the 27th of October 2007 at the Harare Gardens under the theme
'Rock the vote concert'.
The concert targeted
the youth who seem to be oblivious of the significance of taking
part in the electoral process and was held at the same time with
the mop up voter registration which follows the failure by many
m Zimbabweans to register to vote due to the inefficiency of the
registration process.
Crisis Coalition aims
at creating peaceful political coexistence through urging the youths,
who are sometimes used by politicians in political violence, to
vote for a worthy cause to factor positive change.
Rocqui, Extra- Large,
Leonard Zhakata, Chiwoniso and Chirikure Chirikure constituted the
line up of the day.
The Coalition is taking
the initiative to empower the youth at grass root level through
holding musical concerts in areas considered impenetrable giving
every Zimbabwean a chance to know that its their viable right to
be a part of national processes like voting.
