    Dear All

This offer of legal assistance to people called to attend court in Chinhoyi on Feb 27, 2002 refers:

I have offered to attend the Chinhoyi Magistrates Court on the 27th February to assist a friend with her appeal in respect of the Notice of Objection.
I will assist any other persons who require assistance at Chinhoyi on that day.
    Sincerely

    Hilary Fitzpatrick

Please contact Hilary via email: lawyer@vhfandco.icon.co.zw to liaise.

Are there any other lawyers out there who can assist at no charge - or at a substantially reduced fee? A little community spirit will go a long way

Remember that NGO's like the ZLHR have limited capacity and are unable to assist everyone. It is important that people in communities work together with the information attached to help each other.

ZLHR can be contacted at Harare (04) 251468 - This number will be for reports only and requests for medico-legal services in emergencies and not for advice. ZLHR further comments:

What is desperately needed is a motivated group of concerned citizens who will urgently take over what I started and urge everyone they contact to share the information they have with everyone else they know!
Additional people are needed to put information out at appropriate places - I thought of suburban libraries, retirement homes, schools, etc. Also to take messages from the ZLHR answerphone and make reply calls - which would involve visiting my office, say, for a few hours a day.
We can assist by footing the bill for photocopying but someone else must take over the process.
So if you know of any organised types (preferably who have been through the process) please ask them to fax or email me - zlhr@icon.co.zw - with a message headed 'volunteer' or give me their details by return.

    Best wishes
    Brenda Burrell
