Five Masvingo activists appear in court
Students Solidarity Trust

Five Masvingo Polytechnic students Tatenda Sibanda, Evans Tangirai, Blessing Makwachatu, Desire Matambo and Samuel Darikirai appeared before Masvingo Magistrate Mr Mudzongachiso today the 10th of July. They are facing charges of public violence and malicious damage to property. Their charges arose from their participation in a demonstration against an early registration deadline of May 31st. The five were picked up at the Masvingo Polytechnic dinning hall and they were taken to Chikato police station were they where detained.

Their case will continue on the 24th of July when witnesses will continue with their testimonies.

The prosecutor is Mr M Rusere whilst their defence lawyer is Mr M Gwasira.
