Trial date for four NUST students set
Students Solidarity Trust
April 13, 2011

Four National University of Science and Technology students appeared before a Bulawayo Magistrate today after the state had indicated that they are ready to prosecute. The students David Mushawani, Beven Nyamande, Ernest Makoni and Duncan Mombeshora are facing charges of participating in an illegal gathering with intentions of causing public violence. This is not the first time the students have been summoned to court and in all instances the state has always been ill prepared or the state witnesses fail to attend court which had dragged the case from last year. At today's appearance, trial for the case has been set for the 3rd of May. The Student Solidarity Trust will continue calling for the justice system to carry out its mandate independently and for the partisan and biased approach to work to stop. Justice is a basic human right and all are entitled to it.
