Five Masvingo students appear before a Masvingo Magistrate
Students Solidarity Trust
March 03, 2011

Five Masvingo students today appeared before a Masvingo magistrate Munodawafa facing charges of malicious damage to property and assault following a demonstration against the barring of students who had not paid fees from writing exams in October last year. Zivanai Muzorodzi, Arnorld Batsirai, Gamuchirai Magura, Godfrey Kurauone represented by their lawyer Philip Shumba have been advised that they will be summoned back to court once the state has tangible evidence after the state witnesses failed to attend court and the state evidence was unavailable for trial today. The appalling state of Zimbabwe's judicial system is a cause for concern as students have to regularly attend court to ill prepared state prosecutors. Justice delivery is a right not a privilege.
