ZINASU message to students
Zimbabwe
National Students Union (ZINASU)
February 01, 2011
It is now a
public secret that the Inclusive
Government has failed to address the plight of the students'
community and later alone those of the workers. The levels of hypocrisy
that have been displayed by those in government and the legislators
have left us with no option rather than being our own liberators.
The government has been reluctant in addressing the welfare of students,
education quality, accessibility to higher education and addressing
the problems of unemployment amongst a host of other things.
We have witnessed
the acts of the Pharisees of our generation who are interested in
reducing the rates of inflation, government expenditure and balance
of payments deficits at the expense of the economic well-being of
the people of Zimbabwe. The government of the present day is anti-people,
whose policies are meant to increase the income inequalities. Guided
by the Marxism-Leninism principles, we declare without hesitation
that the government of the day is an adversary of the people.
Our liberty does not lie in the hands of any political
party and their manifestations but in our own hands. Students of
Zimbabwe those that are enrolled in the country's tertiary
institutions must continuously be the vanguards of democracy, the
watchtower of the nation and the torchbearers of society. In a bid
to keep the students' union moving forward and maintaining
its founding principles, ZINASU will go on a restructuring exercise,
replacing vacant posts (whose previous holders are no longer students)
and weeding out elements that are against the autonomy of ZINASU.
The forces of
evil have commenced their deeds of trying to make the UNION to operate
under their armpits. We remain resolute in defending the independence
of the institution and shall do anything necessary to maintain and
improve the status quo. ZINASU therefore urges the students'
community to be on the watch of the powers and principalities of
darkness.
