MSU remains defiant over government calls
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)
September 28, 2010

The Vice-Chancellor of the Midlands State University Professor Ngwabi Bhebhe declared in the university Senate meeting on Saturday that the institution will not scrap the additional fee as instructed by the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education. The SRC President Believe Tevera expressed dismay over the manner in which the university authorities are handling the fees issue and said the students no longer have faith in the Inclusive Government as it has proved that there is nothing really they can offer students in tertiary institutions.

The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education has failed to be there for the students and any word that proceedeth from the office of Mudenge is rhetoric as institutions of higher learning continuously bar students from attending lectures over non-payment of tuition fees and hike these fees unprocedurally.

Meanwhile, ZINASU would like to congratulate the new Harare Institute for Technology SRC for winning the elections overwhelmingly yesterday. The new SRC President Kalulu yesterday assured the HIT students that they shall by any means necessary address the plight of the institution's students and those of the nation at large. During his acceptance speech Kalulu urged students not only to focus on their books but also the future of our country which is currently in the hands of political comedians that have failed to chart the direction for this country.
