March 03, 2010

ZINASU President, Joshua Chinyere and 11 other students who were arrested on the 29th of March are still in custody at the Harare Central Police Station. The students are being charged under the Public Order and Security Act (POSA) for leading a demonstration in the city on Monday the 29th of March 2010. Mr. Zhwarara a lawyer with Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) representing the students is working tirelessly to ensure that the students appear in court before end of day today.

The Vice-President of ZINASU, Georgina Sango yesterday, 30 March visited the students to get an update on their cases and provide solidarity.
