ZINASU mourns the death of Mother Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)
March 09, 2009

The Zimbabwe National students Union, (ZINASU) joins the rest of the World in mourning the untimely death of a heroine, Amai Susan Tsvangirai who passed away on Friday, 6 March 2009 in a tragic road accident. The first family was on their way to their rural home Buhera on party business when the tragic accident occurred 58km away from Harare.

The nation, Prime Minister and his family have lost a woman of many talents, Mai Tsvangirai stood by her husband in the most trying times, she was the greatest pillar of strength and support to her husband especially in the past decade of political upheaval in Zimbabwe. It is unfortunate that the First lady left when the struggle for democracy was beginning to bear fruits. Our Mother joins a list of illustrious Zimbabweans among them Josiah Tongogara who perished needlessly when they were about to enjoy the fruits of freedom.

The Union wishes a speedy recovery to the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, Cde. Morgan Tsvangirai and calls upon for a full investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident and demand that if any foul play was involved the perpetrators should be brought before the full course of the law. The Prime Minister and the ordinary Zimbabweans will never be the same again without Amai Tsvangirai.
