Stop
human rights violations
Zimbabwe
National Students Union (ZINASU)
December 08, 2008
The Zimbabwe
National Students Union is alarmed by the recent spates of abductions
and human rights violations that have rocked the nation since last
week. The abduction of Jestina Mukoko came as a great shock to the
students and the people of Zimbabwe at large. As if it was not enough,
today, the ZANU PF thugs raided the Zimbabwe
Peace Project offices and abducted two employees namely Brodrick
Takawira and Pascal Gonzo.
We demand the immediate
and unconditional release of these activists and warn the Mugabe
regime that their days are numbered and judgement day is at hand. The
union also calls for the release of 15 MDC T activists who were
abducted in Mashonaland West province 36 days ago. We condemn in
the strongest of terms this barbaric, inhumane behaviour by Mugabe's
security. Should anything happen to these people we hold the Mugabe
regime responsible and accountable.
The violent
actions by the regime is deplorable and this clearly shows their
insencirity in the current negotiations on the Zimbabwean crisis.
We however urge the African Union (AU) and SADC to intervene militarily
to save the people of Zimbabwe from these killers.
