ZINASU Secretary-General still missing
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)

It is three days since the Information and Publicity Secretary for ZINASU, Blessing Vava was abducted by suspected war veterans in Chinhoyi. In an attempt to locate his whereabouts, the students union has dispatched ten student leaders to establish his precise location. The arrests and persecutions of student activists continue its undeterred augment creating an inhabitable environment for the existence of a vibrant student's movement. Blessing Vava, who was abducted on the 7th of May 2008, had gone to mobilize a peaceful protest in solidarity with students from Chinhoyi University of Technology which turned violent when riot officers invaded the university arresting five student leaders in the process.
