Masvingo State University compelled to set supplementary Exams for student leaders
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)
July 20, 2007

Masvingo State University (MASU) students union president, Whitlaw Mugwiji and his Secretary General, Edson Hlatshwayo have managed to secure a final court order that compels Masvingo State University to set supplementary examinations for the two. Whitlaw and Edson who were violently dragged out of the examinations room and severely assaulted by the state and college security, are to write their exams before the 10th of August 2007 that is before next semester begins.

However, the University Vice Chancellor Prof. Maravanyika defied the court order citing that he takes instructions from the president's office and has been firmly warned not to readmit the two student leaders. The university lawyer Mr Makonese reiterated that the matter at hand is above the law.
