  • Human rights lawyer threatened with death
    Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)
    June 29, 2007

A prominent lawyer, Mr. Otto Saki, who is employed with Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), has been threatened with death by the state agents for his continued determination in providing legal expertise to Human Rights activists. Otto has been receiving mysterious threatening calls everytime he takes up a case on activists who have fallen victim of ZANU PF babaric and ruthless arrests, assaults and violent torture.

This has been recently evidenced by assaults and torture on Beloved Chiweshe; ZINASU Secretary General and Munjodzi Mutandiri; former students union president, by state agents who were demanding specific details on Otto's whereabouts. Beloved was severly tortured and forced to reveal information leading to the capture of Otto.

However, ZINASU condemns in its strongest terms, the continued harrasments, abductions, tortures of Human Rights activists.
