Bindura student leader on the run
Students Solidarity Trust
March 03, 2007

As the brutal onslaught on pro-democracy activists in Zimbabwe spiral to the unprecedent levels, the police in Bindura have launched a herculian manhunt for Chiedza Gadzirai, a student leader from the University.

Mugabes dogs of terror accuse her of communicating with Promise Mkwananzi, the ZINASU President who is on the run himself after the dreaded and notorious CIO launched a manhunt for him.

She also stands accused of knowing the whereabouts of Beloved Chiweshe, the ZINASU Secretary General.

Last year, Chiedza was part of the group of 76 who were arrested and tortured in police custody following a spate of disturbances at Bindura University.

Only last month she spent a night in police custody after being arrested alongside Promise Mkwananzi and Washington Katema, the ZINASU Coordinator. They were at the Harare magistrates and were accused of singing in solidarity with tortured SAVE Zimbabwe Campaign leaders
