8
student leaders released, three remain in custody
Students Solidarity Trust
February 15, 2007
The police from
the Law and Order section have released some of the student leaders
who were in custody since Tuesday. 8 student leaders have been released.
However, the
ZINASU
President, Promise Mkwananzi, together with Maureen Kademaunga,
UZ Secretary General and Lawrence Mashungu, President Of the Zimbabwe
Christian Students Movement (ZSCM) still remain in police custody,
on allegations of inciting the demonstration at Harare Poly.
The continued
incarceration of the three student leaders is pellucid and blatant
act of abuse of students right by the Mugabe regime, and should
be condemned in the strongest of terms.
