ZINASU to present petition to Government
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)
August 31, 2006

On the 4th of september 2006,ZINASU shall submit more than six million signatures to the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministries of Education ,Sports and Culture and that of Higher and Tertiary Education in an effort to bring the Government to meet its social responsibility of providing quality and affordable education for fall regardless of their socio-ecomic and political standing.

The Government will be given two weeks ultimatum within which to respond to the said petitions failure of which ZINASU will lead massive protests that will be expected to be embraced by all and sundry. We have requested parents countrywide through our structures to show solidarity with their children.

We also would like to take this opportunity to remind Dr Washington Mbizvo to concentrate on his primary and core-business of Higher and Tertiary Education and make sure that a lasting solution has been found before he ambarks on his futile effort of addressing the concerns of Civil Servants as though they don not have their own Minister and Secretary.

We applaud the arrest and conviction of Nherera as he could no longer continue to lead students at Chinhoyi University just as his corrupt collegues in the ZANU PF Administration. We however note with dismay tha the so called anti-corruption drive has consistently spared the chief culprits of corruption in the form of the most senior ZANU PF leadership.
