Attack on the Law Society, ZLHR, and Lawyers moronic
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)
August 25, 2006

The Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) refer to The Herald ‘high sounding nothing’ article dated Saturday the 19th of August 2006 entitled Arnold Tsunga: The bellwether of Imperialism.

A few points of correction to the ill-informed George Charamba (Nathaniel Manheru), The Law Society of Zimbabwe were founded in 1981, a year after independence through the Legal Practitioners Act. Secondly Arnold Tsunga is not the President of the Society but an employed secretary who operates within the mandate of the elected council of the Law Society. Thirdly, contrary to the claim that Tsunga is known for ‘… his intemperate role in donor-driven association of governance NGOs, including the so-called Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights…’ the mumbo-jumbo goes on. Arnold Tsunga is a world acclaimed human rights lawyer who any right minded lawyer should envy, not to talk about the numerous world awards he has won in recognition of the great and courageous human rights work he has done under extremely difficult conditions created by a regime that thrives on terrorizing its people which employs the author of the mediocre article.

The thoughtless scorn and ridicule with which Charamba refers to the ‘…So called Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights’ only shows his contempt and disrespect for human rights and seem to be coming from someone who attaches no importance to human rights defenders and their work .It is common knowledge that human rights violators alone do not like the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights because they (ZLHR) have been consistent in exposing human rights violations happening in Zimbabwe and outside. The great work ZLHR has done has been a challenge and has inspired other law based organizations to stand up and speak on behalf of the victims of human rights violators which is one of the legitimate roles of lawyers the world over.

Further, Charamba talks of ‘operation sunrise’ as cleansing organized money launders; ironically it is Gono, Charamba, Nherera and other ZANU PF hoodlums who are the bellwethers of dictatorship, misgovernance and corrupt rule in broad spectrum. These ZANU PF unrepentant twerps are responsible for the suffering of the people of Zimbabwe and Arnold Tsunga and other human rights defenders are being vilified and denigrated merely for speaking out against this phalanx of crocodile liberators, quack revolutionaries, Swiss Bank Socialists and grasping Kleptocrats, a gang of bandits who have murdered common sense and idiocy is now rampaging with impunity. In Gono, the artificial government only attracted and insulated mediocrity at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. In fact that click of ‘liberation’ vampires masquerading as a cabinet is now tired of being reshuffled such that the reshuffler now needs reshuffling. Charamba that disgraced wife batterer must know!

The confused but not confusing doctor of disaster Mahoso has also thrown himself into the futile fray of trying to divide the Law Fraternity as he did to the media. The people are now clever than then and Mahoso will infact unite the Law Society even more. The frothing poor Mahoso must be reminded that the masters who pay him are on the verge of collapse, the average age of his masters is eighty three years and their vision for the country and energy has become more and more blurred. Remember the ‘laws of diminishing returns’. Instead, Mahoso and Charamba must attack the Chinese who have turned out to be the most voracious capitalist on the African continent. Nevertheless Authoritarianism is a pathology, which every human kind has a tendency of rebelling against. Historically, a regime that has continued with repression as a surviving tool was swept away by the democratic storm and there is no valid reason why Zimbabwe should escape similar fate.

We as ZINASU shall continue to support all democratic forces, which are being barbarously attacked and viciously harassed in Zimbabwe and LSZ, ZLHR included. In the fullness of time we shall conquer, for nothing is permanent except change. Aluta continua.
