NUST student leaders ordered to pay for damaged property
Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU)
August 04, 2006

National University of Science and Tecnology student leaders have been ordered to pay for the property which was destroyed on the 15th of February 2006 during a demonstration against the satanic fees structure that was introduced by the illegitimate government of Robert Mugabe.

According to the government-controlled Chronicle edition of 17 February 2006,the property destroyed was estimated to be valued at over seven billion Zimbabwe dollars.Fifteen students leaders are expected to share the cost. The amazing thing is that the very same students failed to pay a mere thirty million dollars in tuition fees.

ZINASU condenms the diabolic penalty and has urged the accused students to defy the fines until the matter is settled by the courts where we have referred the students. We further mantain that the disciplinary committee that purpoted to hear their matter was improperly constituted,as there was no student representative therefore with no jurisdiction to hear the matter and forming judgements that are null and void.Further there is no tangible evidence that seems to incriminate the students leaders other than spurrious and concocted allegations motivated by the vindictive spirit within the University Authorities.

The University was smashed by angry students who became uncontrollble and rampaged.
