ZINASU
statement on the lnternational Youth Day
Zimbabwe National
Students Union (ZINASU)
August 03, 2006
We the Zimbabwe
National Students Union join the suffering people of Zimbabwe, the
persecuted Democratic Movements, the poor, the landless Peasants,
the unemployed youth, men and women, and the many who have been
denied their fundamental rights by the illegitimate ZANU PF Regime,
in commemorating the International Youth Day .Unfortunately, we
are not celebrating this great day but we are mourning the death
of democracy, disrespect for human rights and the general moral
decay in our society.
We regret our
erstwhile colleagues who opted to be wining and dining with our
monstrous oppressors in Kariba, hoodwinking regional friends into
the frenzy of devouring taxpayers` money in the face of socio-economic
and political catastrophe.
We the students
of Zimbabwe are greatly concerned with the fate of our future and
that of generations to come. We reiterate the hard questions of
the ever-escalating inflation and economic crisis, unemployment
and the dilapidation of the health and education delivery systems
and the constitutional and political meltdown which remain unaddressed.
Zimbabwe neither
belongs to Mugabe nor to ZANU PF, is it loaned to them by future
generations. They are duty bound to leave it a better place for
them.
We hold ZANU PF
accountable for the foregoing.
