Chaos at Mbizo Youth Centre as ZANU-PF youths disrupt CCDZ meeting
Centre for Community Development in Zimbabwe (CCDZ)
January 31, 2013

More than 40 ZANU-PF youths disrupted a meeting convened by the Centre for Community Development In Zimbabwe (CCDZ) at Mbizo Youth Centre this morning. The youths were singing so-called revolutionary songs and chanting ZANU-PF slogans. The youths were also singing songs denigrating Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and warned meeting participants about "the return of June 2008", a period during which most civic and political activists were abducted and tortured.

The marauding youths confiscated a camera belonging to a local journalist who works for the Kwekwe Weekly. The youths have effectively occupied the venue of the CCDZ meeting and threatened CCDZ Advocacy Officer George Makoni.
