SMS Platform to report corruption
Transparency
International Zimbabwe (TI-Z), the leading organisation in the fight
against corruption successfully launched the Interactive Short Message
(SMS) Platform at a function held at the Quill Club in Harare. Speaking
at the launch TI-Z board member Mr Loughty Dube said this platform
will enable Zimbabweans to report corrupt practices in real time.
The SMS Platform is open to all citizens. Witnesses and victims
of corruption can report corruption via SMS to the following number
0775 220 700. Information Communication Technology Minister, Nelson
Chamisa applauded TI-Z for coming up with this SMS Platform which
he said will be important in holding everyone accountable. Also
present was Honourable Willias Madzimure who also said the platform
will encourage citizens to report corruption without fear of victimization.
Mavambo Kusile Dawn (MKD) General Secretary, Philip Chapfunga thanked
TI-Z for coming up with this which he said will compliment other
anticorruption initiatives currently available in Zimbabwe
