  • Second All Stakeholders' Conference now set for 3rd week of October 2012
    Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition
    September 26, 2012

After initially informing Stakeholders and members of the Public that the 2nd All Stakeholders will be held from the 4th to the 6th of October 2012, the Crisis Report Team is reliably informed that the dates have been revised.

The Conference is said to have been moved to the 3rd week of October- anytime between the 15th and the 21st of October 2012. In a Civil Society Briefing Meeting organized by the Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition on the 24th of September, COPAC Co-Chairperson, Honorable Douglas Mwonzora, intimated that the Ministry of Finance had stated logistical difficulties in mobilizing the estimated USD1,2 Million needed for the conference.

While COPAC is yet to make a formal statement on this, the Crisis Report Team, has reason to believe that this, and other logistical challenges maybe behind the decision to move the dates.

The Coalition urges Stakeholders to the process to take advantage of this extended period to work towards the effective planning and analysis of the draft constitution, and prepare consolidated positions on both the constitution making process and content of the draft for presentation, debate and recommendation at the 2nd All Stakeholders Conference.

The Coalition will continue to update you on any new developments regarding this and other critical key national processes.
