    A case of politically motivated intimidation and harassment has been reported in ward 18, Zaka. It alleged that village heads in the area aligned to ZANU PF are force matching MDC activists to their meetings where they are forcing them to vote NO" in the upcoming constitutional referendum process. The intimidators are threatening the villagers with unspecified action if they do not reject the COPAC draft in the upcoming constitutional referendum.

    Calm No cases of political violence have been reported in the area. 60 villagers from Buhera met in Mutare last week where they attended a Heal Zimbabwe Community Mediation training programme. The participants were representatives of MDC, ZANU PF, Mavambo, ZAPU, churches, traditional leaders, local leaders, youth, and women's organizations. The composition of the participants alone showed some improvements in the levels of political tolerance in Buhera, a move that is highly commendable. The participants vowed to go and assist in promoting a culture of peace and tolerance in their various communities.

    Calm No cases of political violence have been reported. People in the community are looking forward to the JOMIC cleanup campaign which is scheduled for 19 September. Participants are expected from all political parties.

    Calm The situation in Mutoko seems to be calm as there are no reported cases of political violence. Nevertheless, there is anxiety and uncertainty on the part of villagers regarding the outcome of the constitutional making process. There is fear amongst some sectors in the community of a possibility of an outbreak of political violence during the constitutional referendum process.

    Moderate There are reported cases of intimidation and harassment of villagers by traditional leaders aligned to ZANU PF ahead of the constitutional referendum process. It is alleged that chiefs and village heads aligned to ZANU PF are also forcing villagers into supporting whichever position ZANU PF takes during the referendum process.
    Masvingo
    Gutu

    Tense It is reported that ZANU PF youth are moving around threatening and intimidating villagers into voting for a "NO Vote" during the pending constitutional referendum process. The villagers are being threatened with death if ever they support the MDC position of a "YES vote".
