A case of political violence was recorded in Mudzi on 03 September 2012 where it is alleged that Mr. Claudious Nyamundara an MDC supporter was severely assaulted by Mr. Lovemore "Jigo" Chirapu a ZANU PF activist. The victim was assaulted for moving around encouraging people to vote 'Yes" in the upcoming constitutional referendum. This did not go down well with Chirapu who assaulted Nyamundara all over the body using logs and sjamboks leading to the victim sustaining head injuries and deep cuts all over his body. The case was reported to the police but no arrests have been made yet.

Tense Three cases of harassment and intimidation have been reported in Gokwe. It has been reported that one Mrs Mupandaguta an MDC supporter who works at the Ministry of Health in Gokwe is being forced to transfer from her current workplace to another yet to be disclosed area simply because she is an MDC supporter. It is alleged that councillor Chakabveyo is the one who wrote the transfer letter. After receiving the transfer letter Mrs Mupandaguta reported the victimization to members of JOMIC who intervened and restricted the Councillor from harassing the victim.

The second case is of an MDC district chairman, Mr. Kizito Mbirizha who was barred from attended a family funeral on 4 September after he had addressed mourners encouraging them to desist from engaging in political violence a move that was not well received by ZANU PF youth who were in attendance. After the speech, the youth who thought he was attacking them broke into song and dance demanding that Mr. Mbirizha leave the funeral or face unspecified action. The victim was left with no option but to leave before the actual burial took place.

The last reported case is of unfair distribution of food aid. It is alleged that ZANU PF supporters are the only ones benefitting from this exercise in Nembudziya. MDC supporters have taken the case up with the relevant authority but the situation has not yet been rectified.

Tense It is reported that authorities at Timuka Business centre hall refused MDC supporters access to the venue they had booked earlier on for a rally which was scheduled for Saturday 01 September. It is alleged that the administration refused to release the keys citing fear of victimization after the rally for allowing MDC to hold its rally at the hall. As a result the rally failed to kick off. The fear of victimization can be attributed to past harassment in the area.
