Five activists granted bail
Community Tolerance Reconciliation and Development (COTRAD)

COTRAD activist, Danmore Chuma, Blessing Mushava, Johannes Muzenda, Japhinos Musora and Tasunungurwa Zumba appeared before Masvingo Magistrate court today at 14.15pm for bail application ruling. The five were granted bail by Magistrate Mwanyisa and were released upon the payment US$50 each and are liable to report every Friday at stipulated police stations. The case was remanded to the 24th July 2012.

The five activist were facing two counts of contravening section 25 (5) of the Public Order and Security Act (POSA) chapter 11.17 number 18/2007 and undermining the authority of the president defined in section 33(1) (b) of the code.

COTRAD will continue to play a beacon role in the quest to attain political, socioeconomic rights of the Zimbabweans.
