National Constitutional Assembly (NCA)
August
16, 2011
The National
Constitutional Assembly (NCA) has learned with shock and sadness
about the untimely death of Retired General Solomon Mujuru. Reports
from The Herald (online edition) say that General Mujuru was burnt
to death at his Beatrice Farm early morning.
Gen Mujuru was a true servant of the people, who served with diligence
as commander of the liberation forces during the liberation struggle
and was very loyal to the revolutionary cause of our people.
The demise of
General Mujuru is a great loss to the entire nation. During his
time as the leader of the revolutionary forces he never failed to
confront' challenges affecting the suppressed black populace.
Hence as the NCA we call for an independent and thorough investigation
surrounding the suspicious death of General Mujuru.
As the NCA
we extend our condolences and deepest sympathy to his family on
this tragic loss. We are in mourning with them at this darkest hour
that has befallen them.
We dip our banner in honour of this great revolutionary and call
on all Zimbabweans from all walks of life to give him a well deserved
send off.
