Cynthia Manjoro granted bail

Cynthia Manjoro,
who spent 59 days in detention at Chikurubi Maximum Prison was today
granted USD500 bail by High Court Judge, Justice Samuel Kudya following
an application by the defense arguing that there was a change in
circumstances in the case. Although the application was for all
8 Glen View residents who remained in police custody following the
release on bail of 16 detainees on the 1st of July 2011, seven of
the residents were denied bail as they were considered flight risks.
Manjoro is part
of 24 Glen View residents arrested
from the 29th of May 2011 under unsubstanciated murder charges as
defined in Section 47 of the Criminal
Law Codification and Reform Act following the murder
of a police officer in a nightclub in Glen View by revelers.
The seven who
were denied bail are;

Lazarus Maengahama
Stanford Mangwiro
Stanford Maengahama
Yvonne Musarurwa
Rebecca Mafukeni
