ZANU-PF reactivates terror campaign in Mashonaland Province
Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition
June 23, 2011

The Coalition notes with gravest concern latest reports of Zanu PF intimidation in Mudzi, Mashonaland Central exposed in a video footage circulating on the internet, mainly via Facebook. The video clearly shows a ZANU PF MP for Muzarabani South, Edward Raradza and a district leader in Mudzi Newman Nyakuba threatening villagers who support the MDC-T with violence, the denial of food and other projects as punishment. ZANU PF has militarized the war veterans, the militia, village headman, as well as the village chiefs to make sure that everyone within their circle remains intolerant to non ZANU-PF supporters. From January this year up to date there has been an increase in incidences of intimidation, and violence on the people of Zimbabwe and all this is coinciding with the massive deployment of soldiers and setting up of more torture bases to intimidate civilians.

ZANU PF should desist from using intimidation and terror to coerce villagers in the rural areas by threatening them with death and expulsion from the village and force-marching them to attend the party's rallies.
