Supreme Court nullifies election of Speaker of Parliament
Bulawayo Agenda

March 10, 2011

Harare - The Supreme Court today ruled in favor (3-2) of Jonathan Moyo & 2 others in respect of the nullification of the results of the election of the speaker. This effectively means that soon or later the Lower House will have to conduct an election for this important post. Bulawayo Agenda has the 70 paged judgement document.

Harare - The arrest of the Energy Minister, Elton Mangoma is set to bring conflict in the Inclusive Government. Mangoma was arrested for fraudulently awarding a tender to a company to supply fuel. Tensions in government are set to rise after ZANU PF blocked the investigation of Local Government Minister Ignatius Chombo who was accused of corruption. Meanwhile, the Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association has been left in limbo as they had invited Mangoma to present in a public meeting discussing ZESA. The permanent secretary shall present on behalf of Elton Mangoma at the BPRA meeting.

Bulawayo - Bulawayo Agenda shall tomorrow hold a leadership Forum to discuss the implications of anti-sanctions petition on the GPA and the inclusive government. The speakers shall e representatives of political parties and the participants shall be drawn from Civic Society leadership, residents of Bulawayo, academics, youths and women's groups. The meeting shall be held at the Bulawayo Agenda's democracy centre from 1000hrs to 1200hrs.
