Prime
Minister Tsvangirai must stop being dangerously delusional

To
hear of the possibility of an election next year in present circumstances
is bad enough. But to learn that Prime Minister Tsvangirai has agreed
not to contest the result of that election when it is inevitably
stolen by Robert Mugabe and ZANU PF is devastating.
The Union for
Sustainable Democracy is deeply saddened by the fact that, despite
continuing intransigence on the part of Mugabe, Prime Minister Tsvangirai
has allowed the President to fool him into believing that peace
will 'prevail' during the next elections and that, merely
by virtue of that empty and dishonest assurance, the outcome of
the election should not be contested.
Considering
these facts, it is not difficult to conclude that Prime Minister
Tsvangirai has become dangerously delusional. This is an agreement
that bears the gravest and most telling signs of political insanity
which has no place in present day Zimbabwe.
Accordingly,
we urge Arthur Mutambara's MDC faction to call for the swift
rescission of the purported agreement between Prime Minister Tsvangirai
and President Robert Mugabe for want of rationality and compliance
with the spirit of inclusivity as espoused in the Global
Political Agreement.
In the meantime,
Zimbabwe deserves an urgent apology from the Prime Minister for
what easily qualifies as the most hurtful betrayal in the history
of our country.
