to hold series of roadshows on the new Constitution in Harare

The Centre
for Community Development In Zimbabwe (CCDZ) in collaboration with
its Civil Society partners will hold a series of roadshows in Harare
between the 8th-13th September to encourage people to attend the
COPAC outreach meetings and freely speak their views on what should
be included in the new law.
The roadshows
will be held at the following centres starting on the 8th September:
Machipisa Shopping
Centre - 8th September 2010
Glenview 1 Shopping Centre - 9th September 2010
Mabvuku (Kamunhu) Shopping Centre - 10th September 2010
Dzivarasekwa 2 Shopping Centre - 11th September 2010
Hatcliffe Suburb -13th September 2010
CCDZ is advocating
for limited terms, justiceable and comprehensive bill of rights,
devolution of powers, independent commissions nominated by Parliament,
separation of powers, constitutionalisation of local government
and inclusion of the rights of the disabled, women and children
to be included in the new law.
Speakers at
these events will include CCDZ Programme Co-ordinators and representatives
from partner organizations such as Crisis
In Zimbabwe Coalition, Legal
Resources Foundation, Zimbabwe
Human Rights Association, Zimbabwe
National Students' Union, Glenview Residents Trust and others.
