    Day 19 - Farai Maguwu in custody

    The High Court Judge, Justice Chinembiri Bhunu, dismissed Farai Maguyu's bail application. In his ruling Justice Bhunu concurred with Harare Magistrate Donald Ndirowei's ruling remanding to the 23rd of June citing that police investigations are still at an early stage. Maguyu lawyer Mr. Tinoziva Bere noted that he is recovering from the treatment he is receiving at a local clinic.

    Day 6 - Student leaders languishing in custody

    Today the 21st of June marks the 6th day since the student leaders who were arrested on Wednesday the 16th of June. The union's leaders are still languishing in custody. The students are being denied access to food, medication as well as trial. The student leaders have not appeared before the courts since their arrest six days ago. The condition of the vice president tafadzwa Kutya who was assaulted bu campus securuty personnel is reported to be serious.

    The detainees include the President Obert Masarure, Vice President Tafadzwa Kutya, Gamuchira Mukura, Archford Mudzengi and Trivyn Musongera.

    The student leaders were arrested after addressing University of Zimbabwe students on issues affecting them at institutional level and beyond under their campaign entitled National Campaign Against Privatisation of Education in Zimbabwe (NACAPEZ)

    The Crisi in Zimbabwe Coalition condemns in the strongest terms the continued harrasment and denial of the students leaders basic rights whilst in custody.
