Grace Mugabe President
Mugabe's wife has said her husband would never surrender to
the majority Party leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
"Even if Baba (Mugabe)
loses" , "he will only leave State House to make way
for someone from ZANU-PF," she said to ZANU-PF's faithful.
She added that even people's
backing the opposition party Movement for Democratic Change (MDC)
in the event is not going to force ZANU-PF into a retreat.
Tsvangirai "will
only get to hear about what it looks like inside State House from
people who have been there", she added.
"President Mugabe
is a modest man who does not want to gain anything from ruling the
country. He works for the people. But the whites are saying he is
clever and they want to get rid of him.
"Tsvangirai has
done nothing for the nation. He survives from what he gets from
his white masters and comparing President Mugabe and Tsvangirai
is an insult. People will only realise this after they have lost
their land because they want sugar, salt and other foods.
Grace nee Marufu, later
Guriraza is 40 years younger that Mugabe she divorced from her first
husband, an air force pilot who was swiftly transferred to the Beijing
embassy. She began cohabitating with the president before the death
of Ghanaian first wife, Sally, 11 years ago.
They have three
children Bona (named after Mugabe's mother) Robert (junior)
and Chatunga ,earlier this year the Robert (junior) and his younger
son, Chatunga appeared in full military regalia at a campaign rally.
Some political analysts have speculated that Grace is urging Mugabe
to stay in power because that keeps him busy and gives her a chance
to run errands.
The recent utterances
by the first lady are in sharp contrast with Rural Housing Minister,Emmerson
Mnangagwa who was quoted in Redcliff saying, "If the president
loses, he will be the first one to go on national television to
acknowledge the result,".
However it has since
emerged that Mnagagwa told a different audience that ZANU PF and
its candiadte Robert Mugabe will not accept the decision of the
voters.
'There's
no way we are going to lose the run-off," . "We are
going to make sure of that. If we lose. Then the army will take
over.Never be fooled that Tsvangirai will rule this country. Never."
he said.
Earlier Justice
Minister Patrick Chinamasa who himself a losing candidate, told
BBC News,"If people attempted to un free themselves, moves
would be made to free them."
