Murira
and Komichi released
Crisis
in Zimbabwe Coalition
August 08, 2007
On Tuesday 8 August 2007,
the High Court ordered the release of two MDC members facing terrorism
charges.
The two, Dennis Murira
and Morgan Komichi were arrested with 32 other MDC members when
police raided the party headquarters on March 28. The state alleges
that Murira and Komichi were responsible for recruiting opposition
members for military training in South Africa for purposes of terrorism.
The two were granted
$10 million bail each. They were ordered to surrender their travel
documents and report to the police three times a week . High court
Judge Lawrence Kamocha made the ruling.
Alec Muchadehama the
two's lawyer confirmed the release of the two. Komichi was
hospitalized and is said to be in bad shape.
