Mobile inspection and registration programme - inspection centres and schedule

PARLIAMENTARY GENERAL ELECTION 2005 
1 REGISTRATION AS A VOTER
(i) Are you a voter? Does your name appear in the Voters Rolls? If not, register now.
(ii) Have you moved from one place to another since the 2002 Presidential Elections? If so, register now.
   
2 VOTERS ROLLS INSPECTION CENTRES
  The Registrar General has deployed teams in your constituency to enable you to check if your name appears in the Voters Rolls.
   
3 TRANSFERS
  People who moved from one constituency to another must complete transfer forms at the nearest inspection centre.
   
4 QUALIFICATION FOR REGISTRATION AS A VOTER
  Applicant must be:-
(a) eighteen (18) years of age and above.
(b) a citizen of Zimbabwe; or
(c) a permanent resident of Zimbabwe since the 31st December,1985 in terms of Sub paragraph 1 (b), Paragraph 3 of Schedule 3 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe;
(d) a resident in the respective constituency.
   
5 DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED TO SUPPORT REGISTRATION:-
(a) A Zimbabwe national registration card, or a ligible national registration waiting pass with the picture of the holder on it, or
(b) A valid Zimbabwe passport, with the holder's national identity number on it, or
(c) A Zimbabwe driver's licence with the holder's national identity number on it.
Note: A Zimbabwe driver's licence showing a person's national identity numer is acceptable for inspection purposes only and not for registration as a voter, effecting transfers or corrections.
(d) Documentary evidence proving that the applicant is currently residing in the Constituency in which registration is sought, such as:
   
URBAN  
(i) A certificate of occupation/title deeds, or
(ii) Lodgers permit/card issued before the 17th January 2005; or
(iii) Rates/water statement in applicant's name, or
(iv) Electricity statement in applicant's name, or
(v) Credit store statement showing the physical address of the applicant, in the constituency; or
(vi) Written statement from landlord, parent or friend confirming the applicant's address accompanied by house cards, electricity bill, rates bills or any similar documents in the name of the landord, parent or friend staying with applicant.
(vii) Sworn statement by employer of applicant confirming applicant's address.
(viii) Hospital bill or envelope with post markings reflecting applicant's address, and any other information and or document sufficient enough to ascertain the applicant's residence.
   
RURAL  
Confirmation by:
(i) the village head or
(ii) Farm owner vouching for the residence status of a voter will suffice.
   
6 DURATION OF EXERCISE
  Inspection of voters rolls will start on the 17th January and end of the 30th January, 2005.
   
7 LOCATION OF INSPECTION CENTRES
  Location and information on inspection centres wil be published in the newspaper and will also be obtainable at the nearest offices of District Registrars, Provincial Registrars or the Registrar General of Elections in Harare.
   
8 HOURS OF BUSINESS
  Inspection centres will open from 0700 hours to 1800 hours for urban constituencies and from 0700 hours to 1700 hours for ruual constituencies. There might be some adjustments of inspection centres if deemed necessary.
