this document COPAC canvassed for YES vote in Chitungwiza COPAC conducted the YES vote campaign on Tuesday 5 March in Chitungwiza for the draft constitution which is set to be put to a referendum on the 16th of March 2013. The canvassing for the YES vote was done at Chitungwiza Aquatic Complex in New Zengeza 4.The meeting at Chitungwiza aquatic complex was held from 10 am to 1230 pm Nearly 200 people thronged the aquatic complex where they were being given a copy of the draft constitution in the language of their choice among the officially recognised languages in Zimbabwean communities. The COPAC representatives were just summarising the chapters of the draft constitution so that people of Chitungwiza can participate in the referendum from an informed position. Some sections will become law as soon as the constitution is voted to become the law of the land and these include the citizenship rights as aliens will now be allowed to vote in Zimbabwe’s elections. Other sections will have to wait the elections as there are bills and acts that are supposed to passed by parliament on which how decision and policies are implemented in tandem with the constitution. COPAC representatives urged people to vote YES in support of the draft constitutions as it contains what they said during the outreach process.
