A
gender ghost in one of the newsrooms
Youth Information and Education for Behavior Change
May 28, 2012
We express with
great sadness the continued Gender insensitive reporting at H-Metro.
The pictures and the stories have presented women as sex objects
some of the stories infringe into the greater part of our personal
privacy what an evil.
As an organisation
which thrives on the belief that behavior is the main contributor
to the crisis that we have in the nation we believe basic media
ethics have been ignored.
Numbers have
always changed a lot of things in the country our female colleagues
are no longer enjoying in most public places in the city because
of this so called city gossip tabloid that have even destroyed people's
relationships including marriages.
We believe if
we unite as a national family we can win the struggle, let us stop
H-Metro from profiting from defenseless unsuspecting women. The
newspaper is state owned after all it is disappointing to note that
we pay taxis to sustain our own enemy - what a shame.
As a nation
we can not watch while sister is being terrorized we therefore we
urge all he gender based organisations to fight with this cause.
We will soon launch a more strong campaign against that hypocrisy,
there are more news worth events to talk about in the country.
In the mean
time be concerned fight for your sisters change the behavior of
the newsroom at H-Metro. We have watched and its now time to act
and we will not win the battle in a press conference because someone
is benefiting from our plight. Taking to the trenches against the
tabloid is our only salvation.
