From the Coordinators Desk

I am happy to present to you the first edition of Chitungwiza Community Bulletin, a newsletter that is produced by Chitungwiza Community Development Network.

CCDN is a nascent youth servicing organization that was formed in August 2010. The organization is registered with Zimbabwe Youth Council. The organization's main aim is to help improve the livelihood situations of young men and women in Chitungwiza and surrounding rural areas in Mashonaland East province.

Our programs focuses on youth economic empowerment through entrepreneurship and income generating projects, economic empowerment of those affected and infected by HIV/AIDS, gender inequities and disability. The aim is to uplift the standards of living in young men and women's house-holds so that they can enjoy their economic and social rights to health, education, housing and clothing among others. In implementing its programmes the organization also pays special attention to the needs of the environment as it is the basic resource for sustainable development of the country.

It is my hope that the organization and its programs will be warmly received and appreciated by citizens and members of Chitungwiza Community and surrounding areas.

I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage citizens to make contributions in any local languages for publication in the Bulletin.

It is my hope that the interaction between the organization, its members and the young people of Chitungwiza, Seke rural, Chihota in Mashonaland East will help in the design of programs that are going to deliver tangible results and respond to the needs of young people in the targeted communities.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our members, partners, secretariat, board members and all stakeholders who worked tirelessly in making this bulletin a reality so that we can continue sharing ideas.

I hope to continue sharing ideas with you in relation to this bulletin and other organizational programs that the organization is currently implementing. I thank you all.
