Hats
off to Wendall Parson for successfully representing Zimbabwe at the BBA
Amplified Platform for Youth Development (PYD) congratulate Zimbabwe's representative at the Big Brother Amplified Show 2011, Wendall Parson (23) for winning the most coveted prize of $200 000. We believe his achievement will go a long way in lifting high the Zimbabwean flag. After six unfruitful seasons, the Zimbabwean star shone on the 31st of July 2011 when Wendall defied all odds to win the most treasured prize. We are compelled to celebrate with him on this achievement. His success is a victory for all young people in Zimbabwe who have for long been waiting for the accolade. He is a beacon of hope for all the young people in Zimbabwe who did not believe in endurance. As PYD we have been involved in mobilising our members and young people in general to vote for Wendall as we identified ourselves with him because of his moderate temper and behaviour which is representative of the Zimbabwean youths. His victory would be instrumental in uplifting young people's hope and faith for a bright future. It is our firm conviction that his success will go a long way in encouraging young people to face any challenge head on no matter how gigantic or thorny the contest might appear. We encourage Wendall to remain firm and continue with his desirable character that saw him rising above all contest and challenge to finally bring the prize home. His character is a big lesson to all young people that success does not come with bad behaviours. We challenge young people in Zimbabwe to emulate Wendall's success and fight hard to lift high the Zimbabwean flag. Zimbabwe yearns for such courageous and solid countrymen like Wendall who rise above challenges to put Zimbabwe on the map. We salute Zimbabweans who stormed the Harare International Airport and saluted the gallant son of the soil on his arrival from South Africa. As a country we need to show Wendall love and pleasure for his achievement as this is critical in raising his ego and so that he can continue to do wonders for our dear country. We wish Wendall the best of luck in life and hope he will use his newly found treasure wisely for the benefit of young people and the nation at large. We also hope he will share little of it with the needy and the vulnerable in our society. We also appeal to the President and Prime Minister to accord the same honour given to the 'Diamond Boy' Munyaradzi Chidzonga in 2010. Meanwhile, we urge all the young people to remember that it is their right to register as voters. PYD is committed to mobilise all young people to become registered voters in preparation for the coming elections in Zimbabwe.
