Julius
Malema (President of ANC Youth League) not welcome in Zimbabwe
Youth Agenda Trust
April 01, 2010
The Youth Agenda Trust
notes with great concern and utter disgust the visit to Zimbabwe
by ANC Youth League president, Julius Malema. We condemn in the
strongest terms his continued association with the Zanu PF Youth
League and his scheduled rallies across the country. We wish to
make it clear to him that the young people of Zimbabwe will not
remain in the closet as he will be cheering murderers and butchers.
The Zanu PF Youth League has been largely responsible for murdering,
raping, maiming and destroying houses and livestock of perceived
opposition sympathisers and innocent citizens. On the other hand
Julius Malema has gained notoriety over his extreme racist and male
chauvinist tendencies. He is also equally an intolerant youth leader
who perpetrates gross violence against his opponents. It is with
this background that we declare Julius Malema an accomplice to all
these crimes against humanity committed by the Zanu PF regime and
its youth militias.
Julius Malema's
visit to Zimbabwe is guised as a fact finding mission on nationalization
and empowerment. We strongly believe that Julius Malema should be
the last person to preach about empowerment because the South African
media has managed to reveal how he has enriched himself and his
tenderpreneur friends at the expense of the toiling and suffering
youths of South Africa. We also reiterate that we the young people
of Zimbabwe will not learn anything from Malema's visit since
he is here to share with his ZANU PF colleagues on how to plunder
state resources and perpetrate violence against divergent views.
The intimate
relationship between the ANC Youth League and the Zanu PF Youth
League leaves us wondering whether Jacob Zuma is the best person
to facilitate the smooth implementation of the Global
Political Agreement since Malema is a close ally of the South
African President.
The Youth Agenda
Trust therefore urges all progressive young people in Zimbabwe to
boycott the planned rallies and send a bold message to Julius Malema
that we hold our destiny in our hands.
