  • Youth Forum insulted by the arrest of Minister Mahlangu
    Youth Forum
    July 29, 2009

The Youth Forum has learnt with great shock and insult the politically motivated and totally unacceptable arrest of Honorable Minister Thamsanqa Mahlangu for allegedly sharing a sit with ZANU-PF's political comedian and Mugabe's daft errant boy, Joseph Chinotimba, during a workshop at a city hotel two weeks ago. Joseph, a self styled and unrepentant farm invader alleges that he lost his cell phone to the honorable minister when he went to fetch some food.

The Youth Forum condemns in the strongest action imaginable such stage-managed political drama that is well orchestrated to frustrate the spirit of the inclusive government. This is a rude awakening to the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe and MDC-T president Mr. Morgan Richard Tsvangirai, the MDC as a party to the inclusive government, pro-democracy activists, all conscious, peace and democracy loving Zimbabweans: that ZANU-PF through Mugabe and his henchmen are prepared to wipe out the MDC-T from the political arena given the slightest opportunity. For instance, the cell phone comedy is one such thing that is politically unthinkable, unimaginable and sounds more like a kindergarten fixing tactic but alas; the rank and file of ZANU-PF is prepared to do anything to humiliate and frustrate the MDC-T till its ultimate demise.

At this rate, the Youth Forum predicts that at the end of this year almost all the top leadership of the MDC-T will be in jail leaving out Mugabe and Mutambara in the inclusive government. It is sad to note that close to ten MDC-T MPs are battling for their freedom in the courts on various trumped up and theatrically stage-managed politically vexatious charges ranging from corruption to public nuisance.

The Youth Forum takes this opportunity to remind all Zimbabweans and the youth in particular to be very vigilant in these trying times where the MDC is wedding a devil in the best interests of us all. It is this time that we again need to come in our large numbers and defend the cause that many have died for; with many more still suffering for it.

Meanwhile, the Youth Forum dismisses the recently proclaimed peace days by Mugabe as a political hoax meant to divert the nation from demanding justice. We cannot have the accused deciding on when they should appear in court and who should be presiding over their fate. Mugabe should be tried for all the crimes he has committed against the sons and daughters of Zimbabwe.

Stop this madness; Respect the will of the people of Zimbabwe.
