Re-incarceration of Jestina and 17 other abductees barbaric and evil Youth Forum airs its discontent over the redetention of Jestina Mukoko and the other 17 abductees. We feel this move is not only unlawful but also defiant of logic. The charges of terrorism, banditry and insurgency, which are being leveled against the accused, mentioned herein are uncalled for considering the fact that it is a further negation of the spirit of inclusiveness, national healing, revitalization of the economy and social delivery system. In a way Robert Mugabe is expressing his disrespect on Morgan Tsvangirai, and the generality of Zimbabweans who voted him on March 29 2008, his major partner in the inclusive government and this goes a long way in expressing the fragility of the coalition government. This illegal incarceration of the 18 abductees also shows the persistence of partisanship of judiciary and considering the fact that, it is politics which controls the law, and not vice-versa, it means that even issues of constitutional making, media reform and national healing which the politicians are currently spearheading are nothing but only rhetoric. It exposes high levels of hypocrisy by the politicians in Zimbabwe. It is ironic that the inclusive government is calling for lifting of sanctions against a background where they are brutally abusing human rights, the same reason why they were slapped with them. As Youth Forum we call upon the immediate release of the imprisoned innocent abductees for the simple reason that they charges are trumped up and they are being used for ZANU PF political bargaining. We strongly feel that ZANU PF is using this illegal arrest to divert attention from other pertinent issues such as appointment governors, permanent secretaries, RBZ governor and attorney general and obviously it will derail progress leading to the extension of transitional government life and as Youth Forum we re-emphasize that we will not take any of that. We are MDC challenging MDCT to take stern measures in the wake of this negative, decimating development. Please credit www.kubatana.net if you make use of material from this website.
