Youth Forum board chairperson further remanded to March 3 The Youth Forum board
chairperson and National
Constitutional Assembly (NCA) national spokesperson has been remanded
for the 4th time to March 3. Business at the magistrates' courts
in Masvingo was generally very slow and lackadaisical yesterday with most
cases being postponed to further dates since most court officials wanted
to familiarize with their work environment after more than two months
of job action. Magistrates, prosecutors, court interpreters and clerks
were recently bullied into submission by the government of Zimbabwe to
get back to work after being awarded a paltry 600% salary adjustment which
was far from their demands. Commentators believe that the slow pace of
work at the Zimbabwean courts is largely attributable to the latent frustration
building up in the judiciary as a result of threats received from government
to end their job action. Please credit www.kubatana.net if you make use of material from this website. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons License unless stated otherwise.
