The African youth are tomorrow's African leaders
Zimbabwe Exiles Forum (ZEF)
June 16, 2007

Zimbabwe Exiles Forum (ZEF) celebrates Youth Day together with South Africa. It took the youth to make a stand against the evils of apartheid on the 16th of June 1976 for a new South Africa to emerge. As ZEF joins in the commemoration it is with a heavy heart considering the fact that the youth in the neighboring Zimbabwe undergo a daily dosage of torture, abductions and disappearances.

ZEF spoke to one of the Zimbabwean youth leaders in South Africa, Munyaradzi Midzi, who had the following to say about the expectations they have form the South African youths, in helping their Zimbabwean counterparts:

"We expect the South African youth to stand with us in solidarity, in order for us to achieve regime change. South African youth had the ability to come together in unity for national cause, with their nation at heart, and the Zimbabwean youth can learn this from them in order to fight against the evils of the present regime. The Zimbabwean youth needs their brothers and sisters in South Africa to spare a thought and pray for them amidst their celebrations."
