Six more MDC prisoners were removed from remand on Monday after appearing in court. Two co-accused, Ishmael Kauzani and Amos Museki, were also granted bail but remain in custody with other political detainees facing separate charges. Lawyer Alex Muchadehama said the 6 were released after charges were dropped of petrol bomb attacks in Mbare and Chitungwiza. The lawyer said this shows these were trumped up charges as has been insisted all along. There will be another court hearing on Tuesday for the group still in detention, which includes Glen View MP Paul Madzore. They are facing charges of allegedly receiving terrorism training in South Africa. Last week seven other opposition activists, including journalist Luke Tamborinyoka, were released without charge after spending more than 60 days in police custody.
