ISO supports call for stayaway 9 & 10 June

Comrades and Colleagues,

Herewith the call for mobilisation and support for Operation Povo Yaramba, the 9 & 10 June Stayaway demanding an immediate end to Operation Murambasvina / Restore Order and called for and supported by the Broad Alliance and the Zimbabwe Social Forum Youth Council and various organisations it is working with.

It has been decided to call action on these dates, since Mugabe has fastforwarded the opening of Parliament to the 9th June. More action however follows on the 18th June on the WOZA initiated national and international day of action, on which we are calling all supporting organisations, internationally, to start now preparing for whatever actions you can in solidarity, especially pickets at Zimbabwean Embassies in places like SA, UK, USA, Australia, Botswana and so forth.

We have also sent you an updated version of the ISO document we sent you last week, putting Mugabe's actions in their broader context. Thanks to those who sent in comments and helped circulate the call for solidarity.

The regime has promised to respond with all force, including trying to intimidate the masses, by flying fighter jets and helicopters over Harare since the week-end, but we are determined, and call upon all progressive forces and organisations in Zimbabwe and internationally, to go all out in support and mobilisation for this action. Shinga Murombo! Qina!
